About
I'm Roman Boschetto. I grew up between Italy, France, Switzerland and the United States, and I'm now a freshman studying economics at SMU in Dallas.
I'm writing a five-minute stand-up set to perform at the Dallas Comedy Club.
I'm training for my first Ironman, in Milano Marittima, Italy.
I've climbed to Everest Base Camp.
I went to boarding school in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, where I captained the soccer team and the alpine ski race team and raced at Swiss national league level. This site is named after the line a racer is always trying to get back to.
I speak English, French and Italian, and I'm learning Spanish.
I've spent two summers at Cortina Partners, my family's private equity firm, inside the companies it owns. At Idaho Helicopters I learned from the CEO how an air-medical business gets paid. At Standard Fiber I worked production shifts filling pillows and loading trucks, then sat with the CFO to see the same floor in the numbers.
I run a portfolio of eight public companies across semiconductors, alternative asset managers and energy, and I write a thesis before every purchase. I built Farson, a dashboard that enforces my position limits and argues with those theses before I act on them.
Writing is how I find out whether I understand something. I publish it so that people who know more than I do can tell me where I'm wrong.
Email me at rboschetto@smu.edu or find me on LinkedIn. I answer everything.
